  2. DELEGATOR v1.1

  4. Welcome to DELEGATOR (Evaluation version).  DELEGATOR's purpose is to help
  5. managers and others who must work through other people.  DELEGATOR provides a
  6. set of tools to help delegate, coordinate and keep track of other people's
  7. activity.  It provides an effective and unthreatening means of communicating
  8. expectations and priorites.  Employee evaluations are also much easier with
  9. the historical information captured using DELEGATOR.   Keeping track of those
  10. important recurring dates for people such as company/job anniversaries and
  11. birthdays are a snap.  Of course, easy tracking of your own assignments and
  12. performance is another benefit of DELEGATOR.

  14. DELEGATOR is easy to install and learn.  Twenty minutes from now you can be
  15. using the its basic features effectively. Instructions for installing
  16. DELEGATOR are below.

  20. Copyright for DELEGATOR is held by Madrigal Soft Tools Inc, 1994.  You are
  21. authorised to copy and distribute the DELEGATOR Evaluation version using the
  22. DLG11E.ZIP file provided.   The component files of DLG11E.ZIP cannot be copied
  23. or distributed separately.

  26. EVALUATION LICENSE
  27.  
  28. You are licenced to use DELEGATOR Evalutaion version for 30 days from your
  29. first use.  The Evaluation version has all the features of the registered
  30. version, but contains an extra screen identifying the limited license.  After
  31. the evaluation license has expired,  the evaluation screen will pause program
  32. execution for five seconds with a reminder to register.

  34. REGISTRATION
  35.  
  36. On registration,  Madrigal Soft Tools will provide you with the registered
  37. version of DELEGATOR on diskette, a fully indexed printed manual, and free
  38. upgrades for two years.
  39.

  54. Madrigal Soft Tools Inc. offers DELEGATOR software and documentation for
  55. evaluation purposes "AS IS" and WITHOUT  WARRANTIES as to performance, 
  56. merchantability, or fitness of purpose.  By installing or using DELEGATOR, you
  57. expressly release Madrigal Soft Tools Inc. and its suppliers from any
  58. liability resulting from the use of this software and documentation.

  61. INSTALLATION
  62.  
  63. The INSTALL.EXE program included in DLG11E.ZIP:
  64.  
  65.       1)    Creates the C:\DELEGAT directory (essential to run DELEGATOR);
  66.  
  67.       2)    Adds C:\DELEGAT to your Path statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file;
  68.  
  69.       3)    Displays the minimum number of FILES and BUFFERS required in your
  70.             CONFIG.SYS file and prompts you to accept, amend or ignore these
  71.             proposed adjustments; and 
  72.  
  73.       4)    Copies all files necessary to run DELEGATOR into C:\DELEGAT
  74.  
  75. Before installing DELEGATOR check the number of FILES AND BUFFERS currently in
  76. your CONFIG.SYS file.  You can usually do this by changing to your root
  77. directory (enter CD\) and displaying the CONFIG.SYS file (enter TYPE
  78. CONFIG.SYS).  When you see the statements FILES= and BUFFERS=, note down the
  79. numbers for each.
  80.  
  81. Since the INSTALL program has a re-boot option, you may wish to close any
  82. other applications before installing DELEGATOR.
  83.  
  84. Make sure you are in a directory that has all the unzipped files from
  85. DLG11E.ZIP, then enter INSTALL. 
  86.  
  87. When prompted with the proposed numbers of FILES and BUFFERS, check these
  88. against your current CONFIG.SYS settings.  Set your FILES and BUFFERS to the
  89. higher of your current settings or the proposed settings shown by the
  90. installation program. Selecting NO to the change CONFIG.SYS file will leave 
  91. your FILES and BUFFERS as they are.
  92.  
  93. RUNNING DELEGATOR FOR THE FIRST TIME
  94.  
  95. To run DELEGATOR, enter DLG.  On reaching the Main Menu, press F1 for Help. 
  96. Select Introduction from the Help menu in the bottom right hand corner.   The
  97. Introduction will provide you with the basics to get started.

  102. RUNNING DELEGATOR WITH WINDOWS(tm) AND MOUSE SUPPORT
  103.  
  104. Although it is a DOS program, DELEGATOR will run effectively in a Window.  See
  105. your Windows documentation for setting up DELEGATOR as a program item.
  106.  
  107. DELEGATOR uses keyboard input,  but there are several inexpensive shareware
  108. utilities that will convert mouse movements to the necessary key strokes.
  109. These can be found in the major Internet software repositories such as SIMTEL
  110. and Garbo, as well as commercial online services and BBS's.
